Housing should be set back from waterfront

It is my opinion that we should have more downtown housing. I wouldn't mind subsidizing downtown housing for mid-income and lower-income residents. A vibrant downtown is what many of us do want.

I don't like the idea of subsidizing view housing for upper-income folks that will result in blocking views for many. The proposed housing would include some housing for mid-income people, but the view might be of an alley or another building.

Then why not just build housing a few blocks away from the prime waterfront area?
